MERRIE MONARCH 2021 – two weeks away!

Merrie Monarch IS happening and the excitement is building now we’re just two weeks away from competition.

Hear some organiser and kumu hula mana‘o about the unique challenges and special arrangements this year. Look close and you’ll catch Kumu Hula Rich Pedrina and the wāhine of Hālau Hula ‘O Nāpunaheleonāpua in their rather unusual practice space!

The hula competition part of the festival will take place at Edith Kanaka‘ole Stadium in the last week of June.
K5 will stream each day of the competition here on July 1, 2 and 3 so don’t forget to schedule those early morning watch parties!
